Steps We Are Taking in Our Office

Mercy Plaza Respiratory is taking many steps to protect the health of our employees and clients amid the pandemic.

  • We are routinely disinfecting commonly touched surfaces, such as phones, desks, door handles, etc. throughout the day.
  • We are communicating with our staff regularly to ensure proper hygiene practices in order to provide a safe and clean environment.
  • We are offering curbside assistance versus coming into our office. We are asking all clients who have COVID-19 like symptoms to not enter our office. There are signs posted outside of our office asking that you ring our doorbell or call for assistance.
  • For the health of our staff and clients, we continue to practice social distancing within our office, limiting the number of customers into our office.
  • To minimize person-to-person contact, we are shipping most equipment and supply orders directly to patients via courier service with a clinical phone follow-up and instruction after the item is received.
  • We screen ALL home deliveries that our technicians make to assess the need to use appropriate PPE’s (personal protective equipment).
  • We may ask you if orders can be left on your porch or other safe place instead of asking for a signature for the delivery.
  • We may ask you for your email address to send you an electronic receipt and/or other paperwork.
  • We will practice social distancing during home deliveries, as best we can, to protect you as well as our employees and our next customer.
What We Are Asking of You
  • We urge our clients to follow current CDC COVID-19 guidelines.
  • If we are delivering equipment or supplies to your home, we ask that you inform us if you or someone in the home has or is suspected of having COVID-19.
  • We may ask for your name upon delivery versus asking you to sign on our electronic devices.
  • We will ask for an email address to send electronic copies of your delivery receipt and equipment instructions to.
  • More than anything, we ask for your understanding and patience with our staff as we take extra precautions to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19.
Oxygen Tank Users

Our oxygen tank policy supports our efforts to minimize transmission of the coronavirus while ensuring all of our clients are able to access equipment when they need it.

  • If you order oxygen tanks, we ask that you set your empty tanks outside your home in a safe place for a technician to exchange with full tanks.
  • We will be exchanging tanks at a 1:1 ratio, meaning that we will only leave you the same quantity of full tanks equal to the empty tanks we pick up. During this crisis, we are managing the quantity of our entire oxygen cylinder fleet to ensure all of our customers are considered.
  • As a precaution, MPR Technicians have been instructed to disinfect all equipment, including oxygen cylinders, upon pickup from any location prior to loading the equipment into our vans to prevent potential cross-contamination.
Hospital and Facility Deliveries

In the spirit of mitigating the potential spread of COVID-19 by reducing the amount of deliveries within hospitals and facilities, we may offer you the following options:

  • We will attempt to deliver equipment to your home instead of the hospital or facility. We can train your family/caregiver or whoever will be picking you up from the facility on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment needed.
  • We may ask your family or caregiver to meet our technician in the front lobby or parking lot to accept delivery of your home medical equipment.
  • We may ask you or your family or caregiver to curbside pick-up your equipment from our conveniently located downtown office.
Mercy Plaza Respiratory's Commitment to Patient Safety

At Mercy Plaza Respiratory, our top priority is the health and safety of our patients and employees. We have well-established infection control procedures in place that are in compliance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations that were validated through the accreditation process with the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP).
